Hamilton

A game studio whose entire hiring strategy was one person saying “wait, I know a guy.”

The problem

Hamilton had four hundred bookmarked character artists and a staffing plan that consisted of the art lead squinting at a folder and insisting he was in there somewhere.

The folder was called ART. Inside it was a subfolder called ART 2. Inside that, thirty-eight untitled links saved on a Tuesday in 2023. Nobody could say which had been contacted, which had quoted, and which was simply a nice picture of a dragon.

With Artkive

We replaced the squinting with a filter, and the guy Hamilton knew turned out to be four guys, three of whom were available.

Every profile came in with skills, software, rate and availability attached, so the question stopped being who was that person and became who works in ZBrush under sixty an hour. Different question. Answerable in about four seconds.
