Marrow

A horror comics imprint that lost a colourist to a phone upgrade.

The problem

Marrow’s editor had one perfect colourist saved in her phone’s notes app, described only as colourist — the good one, with a link that had since gone dead.

The phone was replaced. The note survived the migration. The link did not survive the artist’s portfolio move, and the good one became a person who had definitely existed and could not be produced on request.

With Artkive

Profiles now save with names, platforms and enough context that a dead link is an inconvenience rather than an obituary.

Because the record keeps skills, software and past conversation notes, an artist who moves platforms remains findable. The good one was eventually located on a different site, mildly baffled by the enthusiasm of the reunion.
