Snowflake
A print collective where thirty members each maintained a private list, and three of them emailed the same collector on the same morning.
Snowflake discovered its coordination problem the day one illustrator received three near-identical invitations from three members of the same collective, each unaware the others existed.
The apology was polite. The follow-up spreadsheet merge took a full weekend and produced a document nobody trusted, which is the traditional outcome of a full weekend of spreadsheet merging.
One shared roster with visible ownership, so the collective could finally answer the question of who knows whom without convening a meeting about it.
Everyone can see the full list; each relationship is credited to the member who holds it. Overlaps get flagged before an email goes out twice, which has spared several dignities.

Snowflake is invented for this demo, and so is every figure above it.
